Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance, the Institute of Public Administration will hold next Thursday, May 24, 2012, at its headquarters in the Seef District, the inauguration ceremony of the Professional Certificate Program for Public Finance, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Zayed Al Zayed, President of the Civil Service Bureau, Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors, and senior officials in the financial sectors of ministries and government agencies, in addition to a number of experts and those concerned with public finance affairs. This was stated by His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration and member of the Board of Directors. He also explained that the program aims to enhance the capabilities of workers in departments, divisions and special units related to public finance in the government apparatus, and enable them to perform their job duties to the fullest extent, and promote best practices in government financial transactions, through an integrated set of specialized courses that cover various levels of the career ladder. It is worth noting that the Professional Certificate Program for Public Finance was designed in cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Institute of Public Administration and through a partnership with the College of Civil Service of the Republic of Singapore. After passing the program, participants from the category of specialists and accountants will obtain the basic certificate in public finance, and participants from the category of heads of departments and units will receive the professional certificate in public finance. Finally, the managers category, where participants will receive the advanced professional certificate in public finance. During the coming period, the Institute of Public Administration will offer five of the courses included in the general plan, two courses for heads of units and accountants, two courses for managers and presidents, and the last session will target all those working in public finance.
